I received some exciting news today! Sally DeFord emailed me and said that I am the featured vocalist of the month for her website! I have now collaborated with her for two of her pieces and it has been great. She is a busy person, but still finds time to write and arrange beautiful pieces of music, and then makes it available to everyone for free!

This was the first song that I collaborated with Sally DeFord on. It's a great song about relying on the Lord through the storms of life. I received the minus track (accompaniment only) and did the vocals in my home studio. Sally then mixed the final version and here it is!

Recording Session for Songwriting Demo

Today I had the opportunity to work with up-and-coming songwriter Barbara Doyle. She needed a small studio to do a rough recording of a few of her songs, so I offered mine to her. She came over with her lyrics and melody ready to go, and sang through each song a few times. Now she's ready to get her lead sheet (lyrics + basic chords) and the demo to a piano accompanist, and possibly to an arranger. She recorded two songs today, called "I Believe" and "Cradle Me With Peace." It was fun to be a part of the project.

I think I heard this arrangement for the first time on Idol Gives Back last year, when Carrie Underwood visited Africa. I love the slower, more intimate arrangement.
